 Houseboat FAQ’s

.  What size boats do you rent?

We have a 48’ and 54’ that both sleep 10 people, and we have a 60’ and 64’ that both sleep up to 12 people.

 

.  Can you have more people on the houseboat than what it sleeps?

No.  The Coast Guard sets this  rule and regulation for this for your safety.

 

 

.  Do you allow pets?

Yes we do.

 

.  Which days do houseboat rentals begin and end?

We leave that up to you !  You arrive and depart on whichever days of the week are best for you.  Rentals begin at 3:00pm (boarding between noon and 3pm) the day you arrive and ends by 9:00am the day of your departure.  We do have a minimum of a 3 night stay.  Please see our houseboat page for more details.

 

.  Do I have to have another boat in addition to the houseboat?

For your safety and convenience, a companion boat is required.  Bring your own or rent one from us.  Our customers rent these at a reduced rate.  See our Other Boats page for more details.

 

.  When is the deposit due?

The deposit is due within 7 days of making the reservation or it will be canceled.  The balance is due upon arrival.

 

.  What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel 60 days prior to your arrival date we will refund 75% of your deposit.  On shorter notice, we will refund 75% only if we re-rent the entire rental period.  Changes in dates and/or accommodations are considered new reservations.  No refunds are given for late arrivals or early terminations.

 

.  Is the houseboat air conditioned?

All but the 16’x48’ Voyageur.

 

.  Do you provide linens?

We provide bed linens, pillows and blankets.  You will need to bring your bath towels and kitchen towels.

 

.  Are the kitchens fully furnished?

All houseboat kitchens have a microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, flatware, various cooking utensils, bowls, skillets/pots, and various baking pans.

 

.  Do the bathrooms have showers and/or tubs.?

The 16’x48’ Voyageur has a shower/tub combination.  All other boats have showers only.

 

.  Is there a grill on the houseboat?

All houseboats come equipped with a gas grill.

 

.  Does the boat have a television?

Only the 64’ Jamestowner comes with a TV and a DVD player.

.  Which days do cottage reservations begin and end?

We leave that up to you !  You arrive and depart on whichever days of the week are best for you.  Check-in is between 2:00 and 4:00pm with check-out by 10:00am the day of your departure.  We do have a minimum of a 3 night stay.  Please see our cottages page for more details.

 

.  When is the deposit due?

.  What is your cancellation policy?

.  Do you charge extra money for extra people?

Yes we do, generally only $8.00 per day.  Please let us know when you make your reservation and we will give you an exact extra cost per person.

 

.  Does a slip come with the cottage rental?

No, however the cottage rental does come with either a 14 ft. fishing boat OR a slip for your boat at a reduced cost.  You will have to let us know which you prefer at the time you make your reservation.

 

.  How close are the cottages to the lake?

They are located on the hill overlooking the marina and the lake.  Though they are not “on” the water most have a beautiful view of the lake.

 

.  Do you provide bed linens?

We provide all bed linens, pillows and blankets.  You will need to bring your bath towels and kitchen towels.

 

.  Are the kitchens fully furnished?

All cottage kitchens have a microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, flatware, various cooking utensils, bowls, skillets/pots, and various baking pans.

 

.  Do the cottages have outside grills?

There is a charcoal grill close to every cottage.  Cottage #6 has a gas grill on the back deck.

 

.  Can we build a campfire or pitch a tent by our cottage?

No, we’re sorry we don’t allow fires or tents in the cottage areas. 

 

.  Do the cottages have televisions?

All cottages are equipped with televisions and satellite reception.  You may want to bring a portable DVD player and some movies.

 

.  Do you allow pets in any of the cottages.

Yes we do.

 

.  Do you have efficiency cottages for just 2 people?

Yes we do.  Please see cottages #2, #3, and #5 on our cottages page for more information.

 

.  How many people do the other cottages sleep?

We have cottages for 2 people all the way up to 8 people.  If you have more people than that please check out our Group Lodging at the Harbor House.

.  How far is the Harbor House from the lake?

Directly across from the Marina by lake’s edge.  Approximately 30 yards from the water.

 

.  How far is the duplex from the lake?

The Duplex, which is cottages #23 and #24, is on the hill overlooking the marina.

No, however the cottage rental does come with either a 14 ft. fishing boat OR a slip for your boat at a reduced cost.  You will have to let us know which you prefer at the time you make your reservation.

All kitchens have a microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, dishes, flatware, various cooking utensils, bowls, skillets/pots, and various baking pans.  The Captain’s Quarters kitchen comes with 2 coffeemakers.

 

.  Do the cottages have outside grills?

There is a charcoal grill outside of the duplex and a gas grill outside each floor of the Harbor House.

 

.  Do you allow pets.

Yes we do.

 

.  Are there televisions?

All cottages are equipped with televisions and satellite reception.  You may want to bring a portable DVD player and some movies.  Each floor of the Harbor House has a DVD player.

.  Are there any restaurants on the lake?

There are several within 10 minutes of Dale Hollow Marina by land or by water.

 

.  Do you have dockage?

Yes, both open and covered.

 

.  Do you sell gas?

Yes, mix and regular.

 

.  Do you sell live bait and tackle?

We sell night crawlers, minnows, redworms and crickets.  A small assortment of tackle is available at our store.

 

.  Do allow fishing or swimming in the marina area?

No we don’t, it is against US Corp of Engineer rules and regulations and is subject to a fine.

 

.  Do you sell souvenirs, clothing, groceries or ice?

We sell souvenirs, clothing, ice and have several other grocery items available in our store.

 

.  Do you sell hunting and fishing licenses?

Yes.  Please visit our fishing page for a link to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency for specific rules/regulations and seasons.

 

.  Do you have ski boats or wave runners to rent?
